Can you help my child with a disability?
I have years of experience teaching students with dyslexia, ADHD and ASD. My methods work very well except in the most extreme cases. Specifically with dyslexia, the methods that I use are based on the most up to date, scientifically-backed principles currently available. If your child is currently in dyslexia intervention through their school, you will likely find my approach to be a more intensive, and focused version of what they are already being taught. My multi-sensory approach is quite helpful for all students, but has been shown to particularly aid those that have a learning disability such as ADHD or ASD. In the rare event that I determine that your child's specific needs are outside of my expertise, I am happy to discuss finding an even more specialized service provider so that your child receives the appropriate intervention.

Can I sit with my child during lessons?
You are not only welcome to sit in during each lesson, I encourage it. The primary benefit of observing is that you can familiarize yourself with the methods that I use. This will allow you to continue practicing daily between lessons. This consistent practice will help your child progress even faster.

Do I need to work with my child between our lessons?
I highly encourage your to read daily with your child. A big part of my approach is to collaborate with your on your child's reading journey. Each week I will provide reading material that aligns with the skills we are working on. I ask that you have your child read these materials several times between lessons.

What happens if I can't make it to a lesson?
Life happens...I get it! Please notify me by email or text at least 24 hours in advance if your plans change. If you need to cancel our lesson with less than a 24 hours notice, there is a $50 cancellation fee. I really don't like having to charge cancellation fees, so please let me know before the cutoff.
6
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time, we accept Venmo, Zelle, PayPal (friends and family only), and cash.
7
How often do I pay?
Payment is due at the end of each lesson, however, some clients prefer to pay in advance.
8
How long will my child require a reading tutor?
It very much depends on your child's age, current reading abilities, and your goals for your child. The quickest way to achieve your goal is ensuring the lessons are as frequent as possible and practice between lessons is consistent.
